River Corridor Pipeline, 12km

A 12km pipeline route crossing three watercourses required protected species survey and construction-phase supervision to satisfy conditions attached to the consent.

Otter and water vole were both present along the corridor. The route was still being refined during survey, so the survey area kept moving. This is a common problem on linear schemes and an expensive one if handled by re-scoping each time.

We surveyed a corridor wider than the proposed route so that refinements stayed within already-surveyed ground, then provided ECoW cover through the sensitive construction phases.

Surveys completed within programme, conditions discharged without delay to the construction schedule, and no route-change re-surveys were needed.
